About Our Client:

Our client is a company with an excellent track record in delivering quality processed metal components to suit any manufacturing processes. Meeting the toughest of challenges in plate processing, as well as development and production of steel components. They ensure the highest quality, consistency, timely and reliable service to all customers.

Schedule: 3-4 days FIFO or 5 days per week onsite

Factory Managers / Supervisor Key Duties:

  • Visual inspection of completed welds constructions and correctly identify any factory/welding imperfection present
  • Monitor Welder/Factory production for products and repairs in accordance with job quality requirements procedures and codes of practice.
  • Be able to visually inspect welded products. Understand the need for specifications, codes and standards and the need for acceptance levels.
  • Verify that joint preparation and fit-up are in accordance with welding procedure specifications and/or work instructions.
  • Interpret weld drawings and specifications, having a thorough understanding of weld symbols.
  • Physically examine the finished work for conformance to the applicable codes, standards, specifications and drawings.
  • Compile and maintain detailed weld inspection records when required.
  • Actively participate in workshop safety meetings in order to ensure that all issues associated with safety, productivity, grievances etc. are adequately aired in an open forum.
  • Become familiar with all aspects of a work order package prior to issue onto the workshop 
Requirements:

  • 1st Class welder or equivalent trade certificate
  • Previous industry experience in heavy steel manufacturing industry or as Factory Manager
  • Demonstrated experience supervising teams of 4 personnel or more
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in respective trade and associated industry
  • Competent in reading and interpretation of fabrication drawings, WPS and ITPs
  • Experience and understanding of Audit & Inspection processes
  • Highly motivated with good written and oral communication skills
  • Hands-on’ leader in the day-to-day planning, preparation and delivery of activities
  • An innovative approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and successful delivery method
  • A proactive, motivated mindset, someone who thrives when working under pressure.
Remuneration:

  • $55 to $60 per hour plus Super and Overtime
