About Our Client:

The client is a family-run mining technology company that has been operating for three generations. CNC machinist expertise, especially for DMG Mori careers, has made them well-known in the industry for their engineering solutions for mobile mining machinery used in underground and open pit mining of metals. Their team plays a crucial role in the precision manufacturing of components, parts, and assemblies used in the world’s finest mining equipment.

Their specialty is in creating spare parts that match or exceed the quality of original equipment manufacturers (OEM). They have utilized reverse engineering techniques, with the assistance of experienced CNC machinist, to gain insights into the manufacturing process. This has allowed them to produce precision-engineered mining parts that are used across the globe in the DMG jobs they offer.

Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8-10 hours shift, starts 6AM onwards

Job Role:
 

The key objective of the position of the CNC Machinist is to produce machined parts by programming, setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines, maintaining a high level of quality and safety standards.  The CNC Machinist will maintain equipment and supplies, helping the innovation and growth of the company by securing greater market share in the mining industry.  

CNC MACHINIST(DMG Mori) KEY DUTIES:

  • Producing high quality parts machined in accordance with manufacturing drawings, job sheets, materials, specifications and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Planning efficient machining operations and stable work holding methods, machining parts in a safe and resourceful manner.
  •  Scheduling jobs to make sure tooling available when needed including inserts, cutters and work holding devices / jigs.
  • Maintaining machines in good working order with regular services and keeping machines clean and tidy and avoiding crashes.
  • Operating machinery in accordance with company policies.
  • ·Using correct material for the job as per job sheet.
  •  Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • ·Verifying settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards and stipulated sizes on drawings.
  • Offer machining suggestions and comments to design engineers.
  • Liaising with the Production Manager being liaised with on machining requirements/restrictions in the design of new parts.
  • Programming CNC machinery by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic maths, geometry, and trigonometry and providing part programs.
  • Maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  •  Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications, seeking opportunities to increase knowledge within the company.
ESSENTIAL:
 
  • Experience in a CNC machining position. 
  • Trade qualification in Machining (Desirable)
REMUNERATION:
 
  • $70,000 – $80,000 + Super and Overtime
